The concept for the Carlino Couture line is to create a high-end line that wasn’t specific to any TV/movie star or celebrity, but inspired by them. In other words, if Roxy, Blue and Bono (RB&B) had a real red carpet or international gala event to attend and asked us to create something for them to wear…what would we come up with. We love this idea because it gives us the creative freedom to use whatever cool fabrics/details we find along the way in any combination we choose. It’s seriously fun!
Photo 1-4: In May 2012, we introduced our first Carlino Couture collection and RB&B became “The Pugs of Rock” (Bono the “Rock God”, Blue the “Rock Star” and Roxy the “Rock Diva”). The theme was black leather with metal embellishments…a little naughty, a little sassy and a dash of cool.
Photo 5-7: During our studio photo shoot for the rock series, Kathmandu (owner: Candida) was visiting with us and we included her in the rock star fun. Her rock diva photo was included in a video (Kat with a Hat) we put together of all of the pug antics of her stay with us and she also got to present her rock diva portrait to her mom.
Photo 8-9: In October 2012 we entered our Bono the “Rock God” photo in the Petsmart Monster Cute Photo Contest where it won 3rd place in the rock category.
Photo 10: On January 26, 2013 we added a black and white series of parkas…just in case our rock stars needed something to wear from the studio to their jet 😉
Photo 11: In September of 2014, blues-man Rock’n Blue Pugstar was included in the book Pugs in Costumes…a cute little book featuring a lot of adorable/funny photos of pugs in their costumes.
Stay tuned for more of our Carlino Couture line. We have a lot of ideas (not all rock stars) and have been collecting fabrics/notions for this series for years. Plus we still want to fit in location shoots for the rock series (fun!). New photos will be added to the Carlino Couture album in the portfolio section of our website.
